Women in the military, and the evening news

Well, I was watching the evening news, and there was an interesting segment about women in the military. It was one of those wonderful network created type "controversies." It went like this:
Oh no! Women in the military actually get hurt! We have to do something about this! It's terrible! We must do something!!!
Well, I'd hate to break it to you, but sometimes people in the military do get hurt. And people in the military generally have some understanding that they might die in battle.
And to top it off, they close with a funeral and picture of one of the ladies that died in combat. That is just sick! Exploiting the death of a soldier for their stupid story.

Palm One came out with the new LifeDrive Mobile Manager. Looks cool, but apparently it has a slow hard drive. More here.
Also, the screen on my laptop just died... really troublesome, especially since the warranty gave up a few weeks ago. This is the last brick I buy from System Electronics. Yep... I bought the first one, it had problems, so they replaced it at my cost (I paid shipping, had to pay for the new laptop to make sure I sent the old one back.) The one they gave me would not boot, so they gave me a new one again, only this one was missing parts. Their response? "Just swap out whatever you need and return the old one." And now this one has died... Gah!
Good news is, I have it hooked up to a CRT until I could repair it, or replace it.
